About Me

What editors say about my work...
I started my writing career on the sports pages of the Evening Herald in Plymouth - at the age of just 15.
I have a BA Hons (2:1) in Journalism from City University, London. After university, I accidentally fell into a career in TV production where my writing, research and proofreading skills helped me rise to the role of Creative Director.
I have always enjoyed taking a deep dive into a subject, discovering what is new and interesting to say about it, and then expressing that with clarity and purpose.
Over the years I've produced content on a wide variety of topics including food, fashion, mental health, personal finance, sex and relationships.
I am an animal lover with my own horses, dogs, cats and chickens and I live in the beautiful Quantock Hills in Somerset. Writing about animals and the great outdoors is my specialism.
"I have just run through your feature and wanted to say what a great job you have done – I’m really pleased with it. You have weaved the quotes in so beautifully and it is so well crafted, thought through and written. Really brilliant – thank you." Your Horse magazine.
"Absolutely perfect! Thank you so much Catherine. Perfect tone." Somerset Life magazine.
"This is great, thanks Catherine. Both fun and informative!" Horse & Hound
